Giving in 2016—in the coldest month, it is time to send out the warmth. 2016 has been an amazing year for me so far. We are building a studio, I was named Top Portrait Photographer by Toronto Mom Now, and I have started a new art project. But all of this means nothing to me if I am not making people smile, making memories, and bringing a little bit of love into people’s lives.
Lately, I’ve been thinking of how I share photos with my family. We all want digital images, but what do we do with them? I take hundreds of pictures of my kids on my camera and my iPhone, save them to a folder on my computer, only to go crazy trying to find just the right one when I need a present for my mom. Who remembers the floppy disk? Hopefully you do not have pictures stored on one of those.
So, to solve this problem, I have started printing out pictures and making albums of our top shots. As a family, one of our most treasured pastimes is sitting down and looking at our growing collection together. We often look at these pictures and remember the good times. For my son who is 7, looking back at pictures of himself at 3, with his big chubby cheeks, is a big deal. My all-time favorite photos of the kids are from our yearly fathers’ day shoot where we make mustaches cause daddy can’t. Whether to commemorate major milestones or everyday moments, I have found that more and more of my clients are also wanting printed images to put on their walls.
This March I am spreading print love. I will be giving away a free 16 x 20 inch canvas print from CANVAS FACTORY (see link below) to one of my readers. This contest runs until March 13th and is open to everyone so please help share the love!
Here are ways to win:
